Zona Tipica is a grassroots merengue tipico band from Raleigh, North Carolina. Zona Tipica is a quartet that performs merengue music in its traditional form.  Accompanied by El Truco Conga, and with the help of our friends at the Dominican Restaurant (3601 Capital Blvd., Raleigh NC, 27601), you can experience the sound, the art, the food, and the culture of the Dominican Republic minutes away from the heart of Downtown Raleigh, NC.

Zona Tipica has coined the term "Grassroots Tipico" as we have united as a community—and for all communities— to provide homemade improvised merengue. #"Tipico Criollo".
